per adviser a month on Scale. Enterprise is unlimited.
Why we have a fair use policy
Scale is priced per adviser, with no charge for each document or meeting. A policy keeps that promise fair for everyone. It stops a small number of unusual accounts from raising the price for every other firm.
The allowance
Each adviser on a Scale plan includes, every month:
- 200 hours of recorded meetings, and
- 45 advice documents: statements of advice, records of advice, review documents and strategy papers, and
- 25 modelling runs. Enterprise has unlimited modelling.
How we count
- A document counts once, when it is first drafted.
- Edits, new versions and regenerated sections of that document do not count again.
- File notes and follow-up emails do not count as documents. They come with the meeting, which counts towards the meeting hours.
- Meeting hours are the length of the recording.
- A modelling run is one scenario or calculation you ask for in the modelling workspace. Figures inside your file notes, RoAs and SoAs do not count.
- We tell an adviser when they are getting close to the modelling allowance, and nothing is cut off mid-advice.
How the allowance is counted
Meeting hours, documents and modelling runs are set for each adviser on the plan. They are not shared across the firm. Support team members do not add to the allowance, and their work counts towards the adviser they support.
Two example months
Each adviser has 200 meeting hours, 45 documents and 25 modelling runs a month.
- A normal month. An adviser records 120 hours and drafts 18 documents. That is well inside the allowance.
- A busy June. An adviser records 215 hours. That is past the allowance once, so nothing happens. If July also goes past it, we call to talk it through.
If you go past it
Going past the allowance once is not a problem. If the same adviser goes past their hours or documents two months in a row, or uses all their modelling runs two months in a row, we call you first. We look at why. It may be a busy season, a new team member, or a use we should plan for.
Nothing changes without your agreement. If we both agree a different arrangement suits your firm, we write it down and you sign it.
If we cannot agree within 60 days, either of us can end the paid plan with 30 days' written notice. We refund anything you prepaid for the time after it ends.
What fair use never does
- Going past the allowance does not, by itself, stop your access. We contact you first.
- It never adds a usage charge without your written agreement.
- It never lowers your allowance during your term.
- It never changes your price without your written agreement.
What is not fair use
The policy covers ordinary advice work. These uses fall outside it, and we will raise them with you:
- Sharing a login between people. Each adviser and support team member has their own sign-in.
- Reselling AdviseWell, or using one account to serve another firm.
- Automated bulk generation of documents that is not tied to real client work.
The Free plan
The Free plan is for one adviser. There is no cap on the number of meetings. Fair use applies, with an allowance of 200 recorded meeting hours a month. If you go past it two months in a row, we contact you. We do not charge you or move you to a paid plan without your written agreement. Free does not include the Scale document features or the modelling workspace.
Enterprise
Enterprise allowances, and what happens if you go past them, are set out in your signed agreement. The promises on this page apply unless that agreement says otherwise.
How to talk to us
If you expect heavy use, tell us early and we will plan it with you. Email info@advisewell.co or book a call.
This policy forms part of our terms of service. Where the two differ, your signed agreement comes first.
